The program compiles flawlessly into a hex file that I want to upload I am using the command 'setserial /dev/ttyS0 Baud_Base 4800 to set the serial.. Anyway, setserial is only needed to set some internal register of the hardware In order to set the baudrate you should use stty.. In case the driver for your device does not support TIOCGSERIAL, the 'invalid argument' is returned. HERE
